Powerball Jackpot Up to $290M

The Powerball jackpot keeps growing. It's now up to $290 million with a cash option of $168.4 million after no tickets sold for Wednesday's drawing matched all the winning numbers, according to the Powerball website. The winning numbers are: 8, 24, 39, 49 and 59. The Powerball drawn was 5. Tickets that matched five numbers but not the Powerball were bought in each of California, Connecticut, Florida, New York, Oregon, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. Wednesday marked the 11th consecutive drawing without a jackpot winner. The next drawing will be Saturday, August 3. Though there were no jackpot winners, two players, one in Oklahoma and another in Oregon, won $2 million each for the Match 5 Power Play, according to the game's website. The Power Play option, which increases the size of the prize, costs an additional $1 to play. In May, 84-year-old Gloria C. Mackenzie won the largest Powerball jackpot in history. With the jackpot coming in at $590 million, Mackenzie decided to take a lump sum cash payout of $370.8 million, according to ABC News. The chances of winning the Powerball grand prize are 1 in 175,223,510. Copyright 2013 KVVU (KVVU Broadcasting Corporation). All rights reserved.
